Our Story at Luxury Kerry Tours
Meet George, Your Driver and Guide
Luxury Kerry Tours grew from George’s love of golf, his experience looking after visitors and the life he has built in County Kerry. Originally from Dublin, he has called Caherciveen home for the past five years and enjoys helping guests discover the scenery, stories and hospitality of the place he now knows so well.
Before starting his own business, George worked at Hogs Head in Waterville, collecting golf members from airports and taking them to hotels, golf courses and local attractions. He found real satisfaction in meeting people, helping their journeys run smoothly and making sure they felt well looked after.
Today, he brings that same personal attention to his private tours and chauffeur services. Whether your interests lie in golf, Irish heritage or exploring the coast, George takes time to understand what you would enjoy and helps shape your day around it.
The 19th Hole That Brought George Back to Kerry
George came to Waterville to play golf. He hadn’t planned on finding a reason to stay.
After he and his fellow players won the competition, they headed to Dooley’s restaurant and bar to celebrate. With the golf finished and a victory to toast, it was already a good day. Then he met Grace, and the result on the course was soon to become a distant memory.
That evening became the beginning of a much bigger story. Six years later, George and Grace share a home in Caherciveen with their daughter, Lottie. The Dubliner who came down for a golf competition has spent the past five years building a life in Kerry, and he loves it.
He still enjoys his golf, but Waterville gave him something no scorecard could capture: a partner, a family and a place to call home.
From the Saddle to the Driver’s Seat
Before making Kerry his home, George had spent his working life in the horse racing industry, first as a jockey and later in other roles within the sport. Moving to Kerry opened the door to a new chapter at Hogs Head in Waterville, where his love of golf found a natural home in looking after visiting members.
He collected guests from airports and drove them to hotels, golf courses and local attractions. He soon discovered that he enjoyed the conversations as much as the journeys. Welcoming people to Kerry and helping them make the most of their stay became work he wanted to pursue.
His brother-in-law, who runs the successful My Kerry Tours business, provided further encouragement. With experience behind him and a clear sense of what he wanted to offer, George started Luxury Kerry Tours, bringing his own personality and personal attention to every journey.
Your Day, at Your Pace
For George, a good tour starts with listening. Some guests want to explore historic sites and hear the stories behind them. Others are happiest taking in the coast, stopping for photographs or finding somewhere good for lunch. Understanding what interests you helps him plan a day you will enjoy.
He brings his own enthusiasm for Irish history, culture and golf to the conversation, offering suggestions while leaving room for you to follow your interests. There is time to ask questions, linger at a favourite stop or discuss a change of plan along the way.
His aim is simple: for you to feel welcome, comfortable and well looked after. From the first conversation to the return journey, George wants you to enjoy discovering Kerry at a pace that suits you.
Luxury Kerry Tours provides an NTA licensed chauffeur service, combining professional transport with George’s friendly, personal approach to looking after guests.
