Golf Courses We Serve in Limerick
Limerick offers a strong combination of championship and established parkland golf, led by the internationally renowned Adare Manor. Private collection and return can be arranged for the courses below, with travel planned around your accommodation, tee times and wider itinerary. Transport to other golf courses across Limerick can also be arranged on request.
Adare Manor
The Golf Course at Adare Manor is a championship parkland course set within the Adare Manor estate and extensively redesigned by Tom Fazio. The course follows the River Maigue through mature parkland and will host the Ryder Cup in September 2027.
Course type: Championship parkland
Designer: Tom Fazio
Known for: Ryder Cup venue, immaculate conditioning, strategic bunkering and the River Maigue setting
Journey from Killarney: Approximately one hour, depending on traffic and collection point
Planning tip: Check your playing arrangements before planning transport specifically around Adare Manor. For the 2026 season, the course is open to resort residents from 26 May to 18 October and is closed on Mondays except bank holidays. Adare Manor also requires golfers to use its caddie programme, so these arrangements should be confirmed directly with the resort in advance.
Limerick Golf Club
Founded in 1891, Limerick Golf Club is one of Ireland’s long established parkland clubs. Located at Ballyclough, close to Limerick City, the course is characterised by mature tree lined fairways, strategic bunkering and a traditional inland layout that provides a distinct contrast to the coastal links of the Southwest.
Course type: Championship parkland
Established: 1891
Known for: Mature tree-lined, long-established fairways, traditional parkland setting and strategic course design
Journey from Killarney: Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes, depending on traffic and collection point
Planning tip: Limerick Golf Club is particularly convenient when your itinerary also includes Limerick City or Adare, rather than treating it as a standalone journey from Killarney. If playing more than one Limerick course, grouping your rounds geographically can reduce unnecessary travel and give you more flexibility around tee times.
Ballyneety Golf Club
Ballyneety Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located just outside Limerick City. Set across rolling countryside, the course combines mature woodland, water features and strategically positioned bunkers, providing a varied inland golf experience within easy reach of both Limerick and Adare.
Course type: Championship parkland
Layout: 18-hole course built to USGA standards
Known for: Rolling parkland, water features and well-protected greens
Journey from Killarney: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic and collection point
Planning tip: Ballyneety’s location makes it particularly useful when building a Limerick golf itinerary around Adare Manor or Limerick Golf Club. Rather than returning towards Killarney between rounds, consider the order of your courses and tee times together so your transport can follow a more efficient route through the county.
Newcastle West Golf Club
Newcastle West Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course set within the West Limerick countryside. Mature trees, natural water features and gently undulating terrain shape the course, providing a quieter inland golf experience away from the busier championship venues around Limerick and Adare.
Course type: Parkland
Layout: 18 hole course
Known for: Mature woodland, natural water features and peaceful countryside setting
Journey from Killarney: Approximately 55 minutes, depending on traffic and collection point
Planning tip: Newcastle West sits directly on the natural route between Killarney and Limerick, making it particularly easy to incorporate into a travel day. If your itinerary involves moving between Kerry and Limerick, scheduling your round on the same day can avoid unnecessary backtracking and make better use of your journey.
Castletroy Golf Club
Castletroy Golf Club offers an 18-hole course set in mature parkland on the edge of Limerick City. Its gently rolling front nine leads into a more demanding back nine, including a par-three 11th played over water.
Course type: 18-hole parkland course.
Course heritage: Founded in 1937; the redesigned course reopened in 2006.
Known for: Its contrasting front and back nines, with water and fairway bunkering adding to the challenge.
Journey from Killarney: Private transport to Castletroy, timed around your confirmed tee time.
Planning tip: Castletroy has no driving range. If you like to warm up before your round, allow time for its putting green, chipping area and practice nets.
Private Golf Transfers from Kerry
Private golf transfers from Kerry provide direct access to Limerick’s leading championship and parkland courses. Collection can be arranged from your hotel, guesthouse or another agreed location, with departure times planned around your confirmed tee time.

Travel takes place in a premium executive vehicle with room for passengers and golf equipment. Group size, golf bags and luggage requirements are confirmed in advance, with larger vehicles available on request.
Optional Limerick Itinerary Planning
Some guests arrive with their courses and tee times already confirmed and require private transport only. Others prefer assistance creating a practical playing schedule across Limerick.
On request, Luxury Kerry Tours can help with:
Selecting courses that suit your location and length of stay
Planning the order of play to reduce unnecessary travel
Coordinating transport around confirmed tee times
Connecting airport, hotel and golf course journeys
Arranging dining, sightseeing or additional stops
Planning transport across several days of golf
Tee times remain subject to course availability and the individual clubs’ booking conditions. We can tailor planning support to your group, from a single course transfer to a complete multi-day golf itinerary.
Combine Golf with a Private Tour of Limerick
Your time in Limerick can include more than golf. Private sightseeing can be arranged for rest days, shorter playing days or non-playing partners, allowing your group to experience more of the county without organising separate transport.
Popular options include Adare Village, Limerick City, King John’s Castle and the surrounding countryside, with each tour planned around your golf schedule, accommodation and preferred pace.
Golfers can concentrate on their round while partners or family members enjoy a private tour, with collection arranged later at the course or another agreed meeting point.
